“Did you see?” The message from Eva popped up under the one with the attachment. The devastating attachment.
“This is bull shit. How could he? And with her?” Wendy sent back. She tried to take a steadying breath, but her heart really did feel like it was being ripped in half. “Is it confirmed?”
“Let’s be logical. They haven’t confirmed a second season yet, so this is only speculation.” Wendy messaged.
Yes, it’ll be fine. Kubo-sensei wouldn’t release a major spoiler like that even if a second season was confirmed, so it must be a joke.
She clung to that hope. “Don’t like it. Nooooooo! Otabek can’t end up with Mila!” Wendy couldn’t imagine the fan art. None of it looked proper, not the way that Yuio x Otabek looked.
The responding message was a shock. “Why not? I think they would be cute together.”
The air fled her lungs. What was this treachery? Could Eva be leaving the ship, abandoning it for another? “But Yurio… He needs Otabek. He became so sweet only after they became friends. Mila needs to keep her hands to herself!”
“Mila would balance Otabek out (like Viktor does to Yuri). And Yurio will still have Otabek as a friend; it’ll feed his agape. Make him grow as a character. Not everyone in Yuri on Ice should be eros.”
“Are you siding with this because it’s unexpected? No-one has even thought to ship this. It’ll destroy the fandom.” I can’t believe this. I can’t deal with this sort of thing at all. How would I watch a second season if I knew that the genius writer intended to make that ship sail in particular?
“I like this ship. Maybe Otabek would have to move to Russia.”
Wendy nodded her head in approval. That was an acceptable plot twist.
“Yakov is going to have his work cut out coaching so many polar opposites and loved up couples. Viktor and Yuri, Yurio, Georgi, Mila and Otabek (hopeful).” Eva added.
Wendy was now shaking her head. Not acceptable. Not at all. She stubbornly didn’t reply. Not acknowledging it.
It had taken ten episodes out of a twelve-episode series for many in the fandom to relax and even consider shipping the most precious boi in the world to another, and it had to be to an equally precious boi. Otabek was the perfect match.
Eva messaged again. “Kubo-sensei says it was a joke.”
Wendy sighed and read the message again. Of course it was. “If it was a joke, then she isn’t likely going to follow through with it.”
“Still wouldn’t mind it.”
“Let’s just keep praying for a second season.” Wendy tried to look on the bright side and turn the conversation away from Mila. I liked her before… but that was not cool, not at all.
“What about Yurio x Mila?” Eva added a winky face emoji.
