He perked up at the exciting turn in the conversation. "Yes. And you would you be organising this?"
"Of course." Like I would give up power that easily.
That's right, my little hometown out in the country with no real sense of Japanese culture and arts, will have a chance to change that next month. The Anime/Manga Appreciation Society is being created for all geeks to meet and discuss all things Tokyo Pop. It is proposed for every second Saturday of the month, from 11am to 2pm, in the back room of our local library.
Short term goal; for people to show up and have fun.
Long term goal; a regional anime/manga festival. Call me greedy, but I want it all, marathon screenings of anime, cosplay contests, karaoke, visits from creators and actors, merchandise of all kinds...
Before that can happen we have to aim at establishing a society of fans. So, if you're in my neck of the woods (North of Sydney by a few hours), please contact the library for more information. Our first meeting will be 14th May 2016.
Please join us.
