Jai stood awkwardly to the side, Ash cradled to his chest. “I can’t take my shoes off like this.”
“Don’t worry about it.” Turning on my heel I led the way down the hall to Ash’s room. It was a bomb zone. Clothes had exploded from the cupboards and were strewn like body parts across the floor, bed and desk in the corner. I tip toed over and pulled the tangled sheet out of the way.
Jai hesitated before striding across and laying Ash down.
I got to work on pulling off her shoes and the jewellery that could tangle in the sheet and either choke her to death or rip from her ears and make her bleed to death.
“You’ve done this before?”
I nodded, not bothering to look back at him as I tucked the sheet and then blanket around her. “And she’s done it for me.”
“Sounds like a great friendship.”
“Yeah, it is. Even though we’re so different and everything else, we’re still there for each other and it doesn’t matter what other people think or say.”
“People say things?”
Now I looked up at him. “Compare us. She is gorgeous and charming and every guy wants to get her into bed. Now me on the other hand... I’m not ugly and I’m not looking for compliments or anything but I know what I look like and that I don’t look like her and don’t attract attention in the same way. We’re so different.”
Jai didn’t take his eyes off me as I spoke and I could feel my cheeks begin to burn. Had I said too much? Or was he realising that Ash would’ve been the better choice?
“We should probably get out of here.” With a stroke over her hair, I checked to make sure Ash was alright and then stood and left her bedroom. It would take eight hours before she would wake up and nothing else. No noise or fire could disturb Ash when she finally fell asleep.
“You’re right,” Jai said.
I blinked at him. He stepped towards me, crowding me against the wall. I felt my heart begin to race and skin tingle. “About?”
“Being different to Ash. You’re you and that is what is attractive.”
He stepped again and was pressed against me, pushing so my back was flat against the wall behind. “You don’t have to look like a stripper or laugh at my jokes. I think you’re hot when being sarcastic.”
I shivered. His hands were by his side, and I wanted them to be on me, even though he was just resting his weight on top of me. My breasts were being squeezed against his chest and hips were gently grinding into each other. I stared at his lips. Kiss me, kiss me, kiss me. “Kiss me,” the demand came forth.
Smiling he leaned down and did just that, exactly like he’d done in his car on our first date. He kissed without restraint, pushing hard against my mouth. I shivered, my hands coming up to tangle in his hair as I gave him exactly what I wanted.
Still his hands were by his side.
I tore my mouth from his, he followed me a couple of inches looking confused as to why we stopped. “What are you doing with your hands?” I demanded.
His eyes twinkled. “Do you want me touching here?” he directed my attention to his hands touching the sides of my thighs gently and slowly.
I shook my head. “Higher.”
He gave me a cocky smile. “Here?” they came to my hips, taking the hem of my skirt up so his fingers were on my bare skin. I gasped and he kissed me again.
Oh god. My hips bucked forward, rubbing my pelvis against the protruding zipper of his jeans... it didn’t ease the pressure building or the want to have him...
My fingers tugged on his hair, angling his head to one side, shifting his lips from my mouth to my jaw. He groaned and kissed his way down to my neck. There, right there, he sucked on the flesh and I muffled my scream into his shoulder. “Uh, yes, hmm.”
His hands moved around to my ass and gripped hard, holding my hips in place as he rubbed against me. Down lower his lips ventured. My breasts were rising and falling with my panting breath. “Please,” I begged.
He looked up at me, lips still attached to my collar bone. “Please what?” he murmured against the flesh.
I glared at him. Really? He wanted me to articulate exactly what I wanted him to suck on? Instead I again tugged on his hair and pushed him towards what I wanted. His exhaled breath skated over and raised goose bumps. But he didn’t put his lips back on my skin.
“Please kiss me.”
“Um...” I knew the words would sound ridiculous coming out of my mouth. Kiss my boobs please. Nope, not going to say it. My face burned. My lips clamped together and refused to open.
Jai straightened and looked me in the eye. “You can say it.”
“I don’t want to. I just want you to do it.”
“I’m not a mind reader.”
“Right... can you just kiss me again please?” I was sick of talking and wanted to go back to his lips on mine.
He moved in and claimed my lips once more. His hands removed themselves from under my skirt and came to rest on my waist. It felt way too tame compared to seconds before. I wanted to go back to that, back to wanting him all over me... or to be all over him.
“Let me show you the lounge,” I gasped into his mouth.
“How about I show you my place?” He grinned.
