We were the same age.
We shared many classes throughout school.
We hung out together.
Obviously, many people assumed there was something else between us. So many made out like we were a couple, or that our father’s had betrothed us from birth (that one makes me chuckle now, but not then).
Not once did the idea of him and I being together romantically pass through my head. Even the mere mention of the possibility of sex… yuck! No way. Hell no.
I love Kent like a brother.
It has never been any different. Even when we did our gap year. The only reason my mother allowed me to leave the country to go backpacking around the world, was because Kent was going to be beside me for the entire trip. We shared rooms and beds and bathrooms and towels and nothing changed between us.
