I was reading this two years ago and quite liked the first two volumes that I ordered. When I was getting ready to order the rest I came across a review; it was highly opinionated and accused the series of having a rape scene. Not sure what to think because it was such a nice story so far and I couldn't believe that it would turn that way, I decided to read it online... and then stopped when I reached the rape scene, swearing never to buy anything else from this author.
Two years later, I re-read the first two books and liked it again. So I ordered the rest and read through them carefully. I had been mistaken. There isn't rape. There is consent, it just isn't as loud and obvious as we normally see it in western fiction.
Chiwa marries Hokuto as an arrangement; he pays off her family's debt and makes his grandfather (who knew her grandmother and held her very dear in his heart) happy, which could lead to a promotion in the business. Now as man and wife they have to figure out how to live together and if there is a chance at love.
Super sweet and over the top, yet very down to earth and heart warming at times. I loved. The art work is beautiful and life like (no exaggerated tiny waist under gigantic breasts).
It is a fast read, literally I read all ten volumes in one weekend with time to start a new book afterwards.
Go out and find this. It isn't earth shattering or will change your life out look, but it will make you smile. And maybe even think about having an arranged marriage (god, I need to get out more).
