Also, this is the third time I am writing this post, for some unknown reason it wasn't saving, so I am very grumpy with this... not really. How could I be grumpy with a fave film? I love talking about how great this one is.
Buffy (Kristy Swanson) is your typical blonde cheerleader with not much happening upstairs. That is, until a stranger (Donald Sutherland) tells her of her birth right; she is the chosen one to kill the vampires. Along for the ride is Pike (Luke Perry) who just happens to end up in trouble. Pike is our damsel in distress (and with an ass like that, I can accept it).
Freaking awesome. Of course there are parts, maybe all of it, where there is overacting. The action is over the top and slap stick. And avoid talking about the outfits (cringe). But it has heart and great lines (thank you Mr Whedon). Naturally, this is classic Whedon (especially since it is some of his earlier work, so duh) and pre-dates the television series. In fact I think I love this more than the series.
Make sure you spot all of the actors like Hilary Swank and Ben Affleck.
And yeah. It is good fun and should be watched by everyone. Like right now. Go on, go find it.
