I wish I hadn’t watched it again. My childhood will never be remembered the same now that I can say this film was so… blah… as an adult I see the flaws. I used to love it, when I was seven.
Story by George Lucas and Philip Kaufman, screenplay by Laurence Kasdan, and directed by Steven Spielberg, this was always going to be a big adventure.
Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford) is racing against the Nazis to find the ark and keep it away from Hitler. With the help of Marion Ravenwood (Karen Allen) they travel around the world and fight for their lives and for history.
How can a professor of archaeology manage to defeat squads of Nazi soldiers who are highly trained?
How can they not just shoot Jones in the head, instead of leaving him to die in a tomb or being distracted while they talk and he slips away?
Everything is just too convenient for the good guy to win. Not to mention he’s not even nice to Marion yet she still wants him? I would’ve done more than slug him. He’s rude, inconsiderate, arrogant, and childish. Oh, and he’s a tomb robber who can get away with it because he has a degree. Ha!
Once upon a time, I really loved this story. Not anymore.
