Taylor and Sierra are best of friends, more like sisters. But Sierra has always gotten what she wants, even if it means hurting Taylor for it. From kissing Callum (Taylor’s crush) to stealing the guy they both meet online one afternoon.
Sierra is wild and agrees to meet the new love of her life in the city, asking Taylor to cover for her. But Sierra never comes home. One day turns into two, and then three, and Taylor must tell someone that something isn’t right. Something is very wrong.
This story is so eerie. Each chapter I hope that something will give and it will all work out and everyone can go home happy, but it doesn’t work that way. The teens in this story could be anyone, or even any adults meeting up with a stranger they met online who has fed them some lies about who they are. This could happen to anybody.
Unfortunately we live in a world where there are people who will take advantage of those just wanting to connect with another person.
All teens, in fact, every person who uses the internet should read this book. Know the risk before you take it.
Ferris is a former police officer and paramedic and she brings with her a wealth of past experience to weave into her story, which just adds to the scary factor. I read this in one day. This woman is an amazing writer.
