Couple: barricade yourselves indoors and do not leave for anything. No one must see how "happy" and "in love" you are with each other, that can lead to axe wielding maniacs making the vow "till death" come true.
Single with friends: Barricade yourselves indoors together with alcohol, pizza and ice-cream and watch sappy rom-coms (the type that restore your hope of finding The One and living happily ever after in the suburbs with perfect hair). Then do shots and bitch about your ex.
Single: Go into the kitchen and cook something that tastes amazing. Go all out. Entrees, mains, desserts. Think of all your favourites and make them, to hell with what's proper or the fact Valentines Day is stereotypically for couples (conspiracy theory: it's a marketing ploy!) it is just another 24hr period. And if the ick factor gets to you then watch a good old fashioned horror movie, my personal favourite is American Werewolf in London.
I don't like what Valentines Day represents, it feels like there is so much pressure to be with just somebody so were not the dreaded single person. How is it wrong to be who we are?
I'm thinking chocolate torte this year.
