Elizabeth and Christina are from two very different worlds but they are brought together first by their English teachers, told they must write to a student from the nearby school. Slowly, each girl shares their lives through letters. Elizabeth is worried because her best-friend Celia has run off to join the circus, Christina doesn’t know what to do about her boyfriend. And then the two girls meet in amongst chaos.
I adore this story.
I want that to be how I remember my teen years. Unfortunately (though probably a good thing) I didn’t have any of the excitement mentioned in those letters.
It was bitter sweet at times and a complete love letter to great friendships. Read this book, that is all I will say.
