Veronica has been hired by the Neptune Grand Hotel to investigate the claim a young woman was brutally assaulted in one of their rooms before being dumped miles away in a place she was never to be found, not once was she seen on the hotel’s surveillance leaving the establishment. But things are never what they seem and the lies that are told to protect ourselves and those dependent upon us, must be revealed. Things get worse before they get better. As a reader, all you can do is be led down the spiral staircase of crazy humanity.
I loved this. If you remember my review of the first book then you will understand what I am talking about when I say “everything about this is perfect”. My one problem, it has been so long since I have watched the series and film (a few months is a very long time) and the characters I could once imagine clearly in my mind and hear their voices as I read their snappy come backs, they are fading to mush. This is bad. I need to refresh my memory with how hot Logan is and how lovably father Keith Mars can be. It feels a little bit more distant to the original television show and I’m afraid that another book in the series will pull further away.
A must read.
