But I'm here to talk about The Thousand Dollar Tan Line (trying hard not to bounce in seat from excitement). The story follows on from where the film left off, Veronica is back in Neptune permenately, Logan is at sea, Kieth is recovering from the horrific accident and the sheriff is still as lazy as ever. It's Spring Break and thousands of colleage kids have flooded the town looking for a good time... till one girl goes missing from a party. Now its up to Veronica to find out what happened, following each twist and turn in the case which ends up hitting closer to home than expected.
As always the dialouge is amazing, fast and sassy. What surprised me was the way the authors have captured the distinct persanalities of each character in their behaviors (the tilt of a head, the sickening smirk, vacant look) all of which was developed orginally by the actors, now depicted perfectly on paper. We have the usual suspects, Weevil, Dick, Wallace, Mac. It helps if you were a fan of the orginal television series, just to understand the backgrounds of each character, but it isn't entirely necessary, the writes have been sympathetic to all readers so you can be a Veronica Mars virgin and still love the book.
I am in love with the book and cannot wait to get my hands on the next one... in fact I feel an urge to re-watch the DVD's while I wait.
